ISI 60th Anniversary – Ibadan
International School Ibadan Alumni Association celebrate ISI 60th Anniversary
The first step towards establishing a formal Alumni Association was taken on February 15, 2012 with the setting up of a Facebook page tagged “13:10:13 International School Ibadan (ISI) is 50!!”. Invitations were sent out and the membership of the forum grew astronomically over the subsequent months. Even though ISI’s 50th anniversary was the impetus for setting up the page, the vision was to start a sustainable Alumni group that will outlive the 50th celebrations.
The International School Ibadan (ISI) was founded on October 14, 1963 and is located on the campus of the University of Ibadan. The school was founded as a joint project between the Ford Foundation and the University. It is a co-educational Boarding and Day School admitting boys and girls aged 9 to 19. It was primarily established to meet the need of finding a school with a standard comparable to schools in Europe and America for children of expatriates, living and working in Nigeria.
We promote a warm and friendly atmosphere, socially and intellectually, for the
exchange of ideas and development.
My stay in ISI was truly wonderful. It didn’t feel like I was attending school. It felt more like I was part of a play with each scene ushering in a new day bringing in new activities and excitement. It was an environment which was one of a kind even for the early eighties. The […]
